The Unix Systems Administrator must have the following skills:
3+years Current Experience as UNIX / Sun-Solaris Systems Administrator Skills Must include: Unix scripting, NFS, DNS, SMTP, and TCP/IP.
PHP, Apache, Java, Sybase a PLUS
Should be able to work with the team members and develop efficient solutions for UNIX systems maintenance across the enterprise
Responsibilities will include:
Maintaining several servers, establishing monitoring and automation of monitoring, capacity planning, trouble shooting on system performance and hardware / operating system failures.
Implementing security procedures, assisting with application interface needs, product selection for hardware and applications and system tuning.
Other responsibilities include server upgrades, o/s upgrades, supporting application upgrades, investigating and implementing packaged solutions for a variety of maintenance, backup and recovery and documenting system specifications and configuration.
