YOUR TRANSPORTATION EXPERIENCE IS NEEDED!
National Transportation Services Company is seeking a Freight Forwarding Agent for its Virginia location. This position is responsible for freight forwarding activities including routing of cargo, preparation of documentation required for domestic and international air/ocean/surface/inland shipments. Ensure data is provided for input to the automated data system and automated output to assure full in transit visibility of cargo. Verify validity of pertinent on all cargo documentation, i.e., FMS cases, State Department license number and rates, effecting shipments.

| Responsibilities: |
|
|
The Freight Forwarding Candidate must have the following experience and or skills:
College education preferred.
3-5 years of domestic and international air/ocean/surface freight forwarding and transportation experience.
Capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously
Extensive knowledge of freight tariffs and export regulations
Working knowledge of automated transportation reports, EPD capabilities, and U.S. Customs.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint)
Must be able to work in a fast-paced, professional environment under general supervision.
The following are essential job functions of the Freight Forwarding Agent position:
Coordinate the routing of outgoing and incoming shipments.
Examine documentation regarding import/export shipments.
Maintain files of correspondences received, sent or requiring additional action.
Maintain record of verified shipments.
Notify appropriate personnel of anticipated shipment dates and actual receipt of materials.
Data entry
Operate standard computer peripherals.
