100 Million dollar diversified company in business for 64 years has an immediate opening for a direct mail Director of Operations. Candidate will be based out of a Southern New Hampshire location.
The candidate will develop and maintain an integrated production operation. This operation includes the functional areas of Manufacturing, Scheduling, Warehouse, Inventory, Information Systems and Donation Processing. Ensure that these operating units are focused on exceeding customers’ requirements. (On time delivery, quality, service, price) along with directly interfacing with Finance and Administration on the forecasting of material, labor and overhead as it is impacted by client and market constraints.
This position requires breadth, business knowledge and the ability to balance market requirements with the reality of division assets. Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications and Responsibilities of the Direct Mail Director of Operations:
Must be located or willing to relocate to Southern New Hampshire.
10 yrs. Min. experience as a direct mail plant manager who has managed a facility of 120,000 square feet or more with three shifts which sometimes operate 24/7 with a minimum of 5 years experience in manufacturing / operations management.
Must have working knowledge of continuous feed lasers/inkjetting/bowes/inserters/master mailers/stamp, tab affixers and all related and support machinery.
Must have several years experience in dealing directly and indirectly with the USPS as far as mail piece design and be able to determine piece compatibility with USPS regulations. To know the DMM well enough to be able to intelligently interact with the USPS mail acceptance division in case of a discrepancy.
Must have the experience and ability to command the respect of all who work under him/her. To have performed the job qualifications previously and be able to state accomplishments and articulate the management style of positive motivation by leading by example. Getting the most out of his staff for the long term, not just a single project.
Must be able to interact and be an intermediary between the plant floor and the office/sales/CSR staff.
Must have computer systems knowledge or experience that corresponds to the requirements of this position.
Must be a "problem solver", to be able to think beyond his/her own limitations, to no matter what, get the job done. A "never-fail, no matter what the obstacles" attitude.
The ability to interact with area Directors emphasizing Project Planning Deadlines and Customer focus.
Ensure that products/services provided by the client are market competitive and of a quality level that meets or exceeds customer requirements.
As products and service requirements are established, research, review and recommend appropriate technology that will ensure the client stays current with equipment and systems solutions.
Through Business/Quality Management, continue to “champion” our initiatives that allow the client's employees and suppliers the ability to problem solve and participate in customer and corporate projects.
Participate in corporate activities as required.
Lead by example, exhibiting and encouraging in others, behaviors supportive of the company philosophy.
Organizes staff and develops personnel resources to meet current and future needs.
Affects positive employee relations, ensuring adherence to company and federal/local labor practices.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelors of Science (B.S.) or other relevant (4) year degree required.
Masters in Business Administration (MBA) preferred.
Special Skills:
Leadership, decision making, problem solving.
Negotiations, persuasiveness, process orientation, flexibility, strong business sense.
The ability to assess business data to keep the Operation on its plan. Work effectively with the
clients’ senior management representatives as required.
Equipment Use:
Personal computer, Microsoft Word, Excel Spreadsheets, Microsoft Outlook. Occasionally requires hands on support of direct activities within specific operations groups due to vacation schedules.
Work Environment:
Office Environment – Travel required. Periodic visits to client sites, suppliers, business contacts to ensure we meet or exceed client requirements.
