The Fund Accounting Manager has the overall responsibility of ensuring compliance with Fund Accounting Department (FAD) policies and procedures, internal control requirements, and regulatory requirements. The manager oversees the daily, monthly and periodic work completed by the FAD line groups, ensuring that daily NAV's and distribution factors are calculated properly and monthly and periodic reporting deadlines are met. The manager provides overall guidance to the line groups and direction when needed. The manager further has the responsibility of working on special projects and assignments as needs dictate.

Responsibilities Include:
Work with staff to ensure the timely and accurate release of NAV and distribution factor information.
Assist in the resolution of complex accounting issues occurring within the funds.
Make critical decisions regarding systems issues and interfaces and troubleshoot problems as they arise.
Review monthly Board reports and other internal documents for accuracy and reasonableness.
Review dividend rates and provide suggestions for stated rate changes as it is appropriate.
Approve dividend rates for funds which calculate rates on their ex-dividend date.
Review and authorize the release of shareholder reports and Form N-SAR filings.
Work with the external auditors to resolve issues within the funds.
Review and comment on Form N-1A, N-2, and N-14.
Review the funds' fiscal year end expense analyses to ensure that final expense accruals are reasonable and consistent.
Review the funds' tax reports such as the excise tax documents and tax provisions.
Certification under Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
This position requires a college degree in accounting or business with coursework in intermediate and advanced accounting.
Graduate level courses in accounting or an advanced degree or certification in finance, accounting or management (e.g. CFA, CPA, CMA) would be viewed favorably.
Five to seven years of financial accounting experience with at least three being in mutual fund accounting or financial reporting.
Departmental management and supervisory experience is required.
Experience with automated financial systems, including a general ledger, is required.
Thorough knowledge of GAAP and mutual fund industry regulations is required.
