Leading home builder is seeking a Director of Product Development in Melbourne, FL. Relocation package available.
Manage 25 plus subordinates, CAD operators, designer, engineers and starts manager. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

The Responsibilities of the Director of Product Development include:
Minimum of 5 years as an Architect and 5 years as a Department Head.
Must have Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or higher.
Must have worked at a top 50 home builder as a Senior Architect or Senior Designer in a management capacity or Director of Product Development or Product Design.
Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems, design new product.
Produce design driven, cost conscious, and competitive product for the company in a timely and efficient manor while managing the CAD department by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Duties of the Director of Product Development include the following:
Design new product per division requests for new or existing land positions.
Manage CAD departments through influence, training, and helping facilitate starts. Communicate to senior management overview of all products under development, and their stage of development.
Select, interview and hire new employees and manage staff accordingly.
Coordinate between assigned regions and divisions on new land deals and product requests.
Sign FHA and VA certifications.
Hold plan meetings as needed with the divisions.
Revise and maintain design standards by series.
Revise and maintain CAD standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
