Upscale Growing Hospital and teaching facility is seeking an Inpatient Bed Program Registered Nurse to Manage the Unit for their Amsterdam, New York location.

|
The Inpatient Bed Program Registered Nurse must have the following skills and abilities:
Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of New York
Minimum (1) year of nursing medical surgical experience
Supervisory Experience required
12 Hour shifts from 7:00pm to 7:00am with week days off and alternating weekends.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities of the Inpatient Bed Program Registered Nurse include:
Supervises and monitors nursing activities performed by all nursing personnel on an assigned shift and cooperates and interacts with other departments and nursing units in the facility.
Assumes the charge role of the units; Supervises all patients care activities, makes appropriate assignments, assists with performance improvement activities and assures patient care assignment are completed.
Has knowledge and knows responsibilities in dealing with MD’s on swing bed patients.
Documents according to policy, pain management interventions and patients response using the 10 point pain scale
Transcribes medical and therapeutic orders accurately and according to policy
Clarifies illegible orders and unacceptable abbreviations with ordering practitioner
Administers medications safely and accurately using the 5 rights to medication administration and 2 patient identifiers and documents accurately and according to policy
Provides medical staff with complete and accurate assessment data when communicating patients condition
Develops an initial nursing plan of care and interventions that reflects assessment data and inpatient goals.
Implements and documents patient education on an ongoing basis
Changes in patient’s condition are assessed objectively and completely using appropriate physical and psychosocial assessment skills
Responds appropriately in an emergency situation
To be an affective role model to all staff within the working environment, will participate in teaching programs with all staff including students
Have an awareness of own development and training needs, maintains a learning environment and assists in the induction of new staff
