The RN Nursing Instructor conducts activities which directly support instruction, the objectives of the program, and the instructional goals of the institute. An Instructor reports to the program chairman or his/her designee.
A Director of Nursing for an Associate's Degree program conducts activities which directly support instruction, the objectives of the program, and the instructional goals of the institute. RN License in good standing with the State of Texas and at least 3 years teaching experience in a professional nursing program in a variety of clinical settings.

RN Nursing Instructor
The RN Nursing Instructor's Responsibilities are as follows:
Present prepared materials, supervise organized laboratory or shop activities, maintain order, record student progress, and assure the presence of adequate supplies and equipment to conduct the laboratory or shop activities in a safe and effective manner.
Organize and present prepared instructional materials at scheduled times and places.
Maintain communications with students and colleagues to assure efficient and effective instruction.
Maintain records of student attendance, student progress, departmental supplies, departmental equipment, and others.
Maintain discipline and order during instructional activities.
Participate in normal program housekeeping activities.
Prepare daily instructional plans and instructional materials at the modular level as directed by the program chairman.
Evaluate the progress and performance of the student and assign grades.
Enforce the approved departmental rules and regulations in the classroom and lab.
Initiate requisitions and work order requests.
The RN Nursing Instructor's Qualifications are as follows:
Ability to evaluate the performance of personnel under supervision and make recommendation to program chairman concerning promotion, demotion, or termination.
Bachelor's or Masters in Nursing and teaching experience.
Must be a Texas licensed Vocational Nurse.
Director of Nursing
The Director of Nursing's Responsibilities are as follows:

Maintain communications with students and colleagues to assure efficient and effective instruction.
Maintain records of student attendance, student progress, departmental supplies, departmental equipment, and others.
Maintain discipline and order during instructional activities.
Participate in normal program housekeeping activities.
Prepare daily instructional plans and instructional materials at the modular level as directed by the program chairman.
Evaluate the progress and performance of the student and assign grades.
Enforce the approved departmental rules and regulations in the classroom and lab; recommend student counseling, probation, or dismissal for excess absences, disruption of class, or lack of progress.
Initiate requisitions and work order requests.
The Director of Nursing's Qualifications are as follows:
Ability to evaluate the performance of personnel under supervision and make recommendation to program chairman concerning promotion, demotion, or termination.
MSN in an appropriate field and three years recent teaching and management experience.
Texas License or certification.
