The Lighting Business Development Manager will lead the districts’ efforts in developing and implementing plans to capture business opportunities and grow sales, market share, and financial profitability in the lighting segment and to complement the existing sales force with an increased level of lighting expertise. This position reports to the Director of Electrical Sales.

|
The Lighting Business Development Manager's Responsibilities are as follows:
High level of expertise with lighting products and complex solutions to meet expectations in revenue growth and profitability.
Drives initiatives to promote top line lighting sales within District.
Promotes product sales within the District by supporting promotions and sales lead generation programs.
Develops the District’s business plan for marketing lighting products and solutions.
Serves as a technical resource for lighting expertise and knowledge to company’s internal sales force and to external customers.
Researches and keeps current on government regulations pertaining to lighting to include, but not limited to, EPAct, LEEDs, ASHRAE 90.1, and Green Buildings.
Manages and maximizes utility rebate opportunities.
Manages all lighting sales leads within the District.
Designs lighting layouts for customers from onset of project.
Prepares and delivers customer presentations promoting the benefits of the proposed lighting solution.
Promotes and strengthens relationships with customers, lighting suppliers and local agents by demonstrating increased lighting competency in the local area.
Shares lighting best practices with other branches and serves as mentor to others in the District to sell more lighting products and solutions.
Responsible for achieving and maintaining error-free performance as the Company’s standard of quality service.
Promptly takes action to prevent discrimination or harassment in the workplace.
Assists the Company in establishing and achieving equal employment opportunity objectives.
Performs other duties as assigned.
The Lighting Business Development Manager's Qualifications are as follows:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Eight or more years of progressively responsible sales and/or marketing experience with an emphasis on lighting solutions.
Prior experience working with lighting manufacturers or lighting agents preferred.
Thorough technical knowledge of lighting products and solutions as related to customers’ business needs.
Exceptional relationship building skills with the ability to persuade and influence others in a positive manner.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Capable of collaborating with teams and achieving results.
Superior coaching and mentoring skills.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of lighting software packages required.
Good understanding of company’s structure, business, department functions and their relation to one another preferred.
Ability to travel as required at least 50% of the time.
