GENERAL SUMMARY
The Workers Compensation Medical Management Supervisor is responsible for the daily supervision of clinical management to meet to exceed service requirements and business objectives, and serves in an active managerial role to assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the utilization management process.
The Workers Compensation Medical Management Supervisor will have the following responsibilities:
Provides daily oversight and direction to a team of Clinical Management Coordinators. Recruits, develops and motivates staff.
Initiates and communicates a variety of personnel actions including employment, termination, performance reviews, salary reviews, and disciplinary actions.
Assesses and provides training to staff as needed.
Resolves clinical and non-clinical issues through early identification of potential problems. Researches issues to identify root causes, prompts implementation of corrective measures, and initiates responsive communication to client, provider, or internal departments.
Provides clinical assistance to staff to resolve complex issues.
Manages workflow to ensure work is completed in a timely manner and suggests corrective action plans if timelines are not met.
Responsible for maintaining all corporate, department and/or client objectives. Ensures compliance with URAC policies and procedures for accreditation.
Maintains a positive work environment and structure that supports self-direct teams and optimizes the experience, skill, knowledge and capability of the team.
Performs other duties as assigned.
The Workers Compensation Medical Management Supervisor must have the following:
Current state RN license required.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Significant experience (usually 3-5 years) clinical experience, utilization review or case management.
Previous supervisory experience.
Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to use standard corporate software packages and corporate applications.
