Excellent Opportunity for an HR Manager!

The HR Manager will execute the design, implementation, administration and monitoring of best practices and programs encompassing all aspects of the HR function. This position will support five West Coast terminals.

Responsibilities:    
The Qualifications of the Human Resources Manager are as Follows:
  • 5 years of previous HR management experience preferably in a manufacturing or warehouse environment; PHR or SPHR certification a plus.
  • Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Bilingual (English / Spananish) preferred.
  • Previous exposure to ADP payroll system.
  • Previous experience with union avoidance/labor relations preferred.
  • Ability to travel 30-40%; ability to work a flexible schedule (day/night).
  • High level of integrity; demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and scenarios.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Strong PC skills (Office Suite).
  • Excellent communications and presentation skills.

    The Responsibilities of the Human Resources Manager are as Follows:
  • Advise and make recommendations to terminal management on all areas of human resources.
  • Visit terminals on a quarterly basis and build trusting consultative relationships with employees and GMs.
  • Work closely with West Regional Manager, CFO and various members of the corporate HR, benefits and payroll departments.
  • Assist terminal management with recruitment and ensure consistent practices throughout the Region.
  • Coordinate performance management program by ensuring performance expectations are being set and policy guidelines are being met, conducted effectively and timely.
  • Facilitate effective and timely communication between all levels of employees.
  • Help develop a management training program; track participation and results.
  • Train management in all areas of HR/human capital management.
  • Conduct HR-related workshops at the Region terminals.
  • Handle various employee relations issues, investigate EEOC charges and prepare responses, resolves conflicts.
  • Implement and apply company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor terminal environment for potential labor/third party activity.
  • Monitor worker’s compensation claims by terminal, evaluate areas of improvement and track compliance of company Illness & Injury Program by terminal.
  • Participate in quarterly claims review with worker’s compensation carrier and broker.
  • Serve as a resource to terminal employees for answering general benefit questions.
  • Assist in training new terminal HR Reps in benefits administration.
  • Help with open enrollment process.
  • Help create and update pay ranges and job descriptions.
  • Monitor compliance of new hires/pay ranges; apply employee merit increase guidelines.
  • Ability to assist terminal HR Reps on payroll processing issues.
