|
|
The Staff Accountant must have the following experience:
2-5 years experience in accounting.
CPA.
Must have a Bachelor's Degree in related field.
Must have hands on experience in development and implementation of GAAP.
Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
The Staff Accountant will have the following responsibilities:
Analyzes and verifies accounting records and reports.
Prepares financial reports, audit reports and schedules.
Prepares journal entries and reconciles general ledger and subsidiary accounts; prepares monthly financial statements.
Analyzes and reconciles expenditure and revenue accounts, including escrow accounts and investment/management reports.
Reconciles monthly bank statements.
Monitors revenues and expenditures, ensuring data is recorded in the financial accounting system.
Ensure compliance with the latest accounting and regulatory requirements.
Calculates and prepares reimbursement billings and tracks receivables; reconciles monthly accounts receivable (as applicable).
Prepares audit schedules for external auditors and acts as a liaison with auditors.
Assists with fixed asset accounting, debt schedules and intercompany accounting.
Provides training in the use of the financial system and assists departmental personnel with budget questions, proper expenditure coding, document processing and other accounting related activities.
Reconciling accounts, records, reports and journals.
Maintaining accounting records for special accounts and projects.
Making sound, independent judgments within established policies and procedures.
Organizing own work, setting priorities, and meeting critical deadlines.
Compiles financial information, processes journal entries into various accounts, reconciles reports and financial data.
Some familiarity with and an awareness of the laws and regulations that apply to an accounting function to ensure compliance.
Records, classifies and summarizes financial transactions and events in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS.
Initiates and processes journal entries into various accounts.
Reconciles sub-ledgers to the general ledger and resolves differences.
Explains accounting transactions: resolves accounting issues and discrepancies.
Uses various software applications, such as spreadsheets, relational database, statistical packages, and graphics packages to assemble, manipulate and/or format reports.
Applies a working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations; verifies documents for completeness and compliance.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
