The Psychiatric Managed Care Medical Director will promote high quality, cost effective care and promote the safety and well-being of consumers within the company's networks. This position also participates in development, implementation and coordination of clinical polices and procedures.

| Responsibilities: |

|
The Requirements of the Psychiatric Managed Care Medical Director are as Follows:
Medical Degree (MD/DO) from accredited medical school.
Minimum 4 years’ experience in both clinical and administrative capacities.
Experienced in Managed Care preferred.
Principles and practices of mental health systems and programs, with an in-depth understanding of clinical issues.
Pertinent local, State and Federal rules, regulations and laws.
Interpret and apply County and state policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
Work with various cultural and ethnic groups in tactful and effective manner.
A physician licensed to practice in the State of Michigan with Board Certification in Psychiatry.
Supervise efforts of Administrative Assistant, advisory capacity to Clinical Department.
The Responsibilities of the Psychiatric Managed Care Medical Director are as Follows:
Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, County, network providers and consumers.
Conduct in-service training and presentations.
Participate in developing appropriate evidence based treatment plans for clients in planning conference with clinical staff.
Review and monitor medication and treatment of consumers.
Create guidelines for vendor demonstrations in order to most efficiently use our resources.
Create and facilitate in-service sessions for clinicians.
Coordinate the efforts of various disciplines, committees and task forces to ensure consumer treatment plan and medical protocol work together without conflict.
Consult regarding proper application of policies/procedures governing effective delivery of services.
Assure adherence to Quality Improvement Program and care management standards.
Represent Organization to outside agencies and organizations; participate in outside community and professionals groups and committees.
Ability to interact with all levels of management and have excellent organization and leadership skills.
