We are Searching for an Experienced Transportation Manager!
To manage diverse fast paced transportation operations with a focus on minimizing costs while maintaining high levels of effectiveness and internal and external customer satisfaction. This entails management of both the company's internal fleet and outside trucking resources. In addition to having primary responsibility for customer deliveries, this person will contribute to both the efficiency and effectiveness of in-bound receipts, including imports.

The Requirements of the Transportation Manager are as Follows:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, transportation, or related field or equivalent experience.
At least five years of experience in transportation industry, including experience in different modes of transporting goods.
Demonstrated ability to reduce transportation costs.
Strong analytical skills.
Strong PC skills including Excel and Word.
Ability to communicate clearly in a cross functional environment.
Experience with import/export logistics a plus.
The Responsibilities of the Transportation Manager are as Follows:
Manage company’s in-house fleet operations including drivers and equipment.
Develop relationships with outside carriers who can provide the most cost effective and efficient service to our customer base.
Ensure all customers are serviced appropriately including on-time and quality delivery.
Manage the outbound shipping operation.
Utilize transportation metrics to develop improved efficiency for cost savings without sacrificing customer satisfaction.
Optimize the utilization of facilities, equipment and human resources to develop sources of revenue including back-haul opportunities.
Audit and approve all freight charges and file claims on any and all discrepancies.
Assign appropriate cost center for internal reporting.
Work closely with purchasing department to properly prioritize scheduling of special in-bound shipments and develop backhaul opportunities.
Evaluate and respond to special transportation requests.
Ensure compliance with Department of Transportation regulations and all internal safety policies and practices.
Coordinate with manufacturers, the warehouse and purchasing department on the return of damaged or overstocked merchandise.
Partner with customer service department and sales management teams with emphasis on developing cost saving opportunities while maintaining high level of customer satisfaction.
