We are Searching for a Director of Health Care Services with Correctional Institution Experience!
The Director of Health Care Services (DHCS) provides overall physician and health care services administrative leadership to the company's Secure Division. The DHCS is responsible for ensuring the highest quality of medical care delivered by its physicians and support staff, achieving cost effectiveness / utilization of services provided. The DHCS oversees clinic operations and programs to ensure operational controls and efficiencies, financial strength, and successful performance improvements standards. The DHCS is responsible for all the day-to-day operations of the company's Secure Division medical clinics. This position is accountable for planning, organizing and directing the clinical operations and for the clinics financial performance. The DHCS manages and directs all health services activities, including medical, dental, and vision for inmates.

The Requirements and Qualifications of the Director of Health Care Services are as Follows:
Masters degree prepared in nursing, health sciences, social services or business.
10+ years leadership and management experience in medical operations and management, personnel management, financial management, strategic planning, budget preparation and expense management, and measurement experience.
Strong negotiation skills, budget management experience and regulatory knowledge.
Leadership and management experience in effective team building and continuous quality improvement programs in a state or regional capacity.
Working knowledge and experience in cross-functional business segments and their integrated influences and relationships.
Effective and experienced in motivating and mentoring others who are not in a direct reporting relationship.
Multiple Site Experience.
Meets all credentialing criteria required for this position.
Familiarity with office procedures.
Familiarity with use of computers.
Knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel, Access software.
Knowledge of medical practices and protocols.
Licensure as an accredited Physician.
Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and continuing random drug screening.
Must pass a criminal background investigation.
Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
Must meet the company auto insurance requirements.
Must be 21 years of age.
The Responsibilities of the Director of Health Care Services are as Follows:
Responsible for achieving and maintaining profitability as impacted by medical expenses and trends in each of the sites.
Responsible for working collaboratively with Secure division leadership, as well as with internal management, in setting direction and strategic planning to develop, implement and monitor action plans to modify care delivery patterns and reduce expenses.
Develops annual goals and objectives to achieve appropriate reductions in medical expenses that correlate with continuous performance improvement efforts.
Fosters innovative problem solving and upholds principles of continuous quality improvement.
Leads and develops staff in areas of personal growth - Responsible for guiding development of professional staff while serving as a role model, teacher, coach and leader.
Communicates departmental and corporate goals and engages everyone in their achievement.
Provides staff with opportunities that lead to enhancement of their individual management and leadership skills.
Development and continual refinement of operational processes within the health care delivery system to promote system-wide best practices and validate full implementation of programs as well as continuous assessment of their impact and utility.
Conducts or directs assessments and produces analysis documents to guide strategic planning.
Develops and overseas the recruiting and retention, training and performance of all medical staff, whether full-time or contract.
Develops and is accountable for the Secure division’s medical budget.
Ensures compliance with applicable Joint Commission for Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations standards.
Conducts internal audits to ensure compliance with all requirements.
Accountable for Clinics operations.
Accountable for successful execution of clinical activates to achieve goals and ensure smooth and efficient functioning of the division.
Marketing including volume growth/ program development and implementation and process development to facilitate regulatory compliance.
Implement continual process improvements in inmate care delivery and safety.
Provides direct supervision and performance evaluations to the Clinical Director and senior medical staff at the various clinics across the Secure Division.
Work will occasionally be performed inside an adult secure correctional facility.
Work requires periodic standing, walking and stooping, but normally is a sedentary-type position.
working in a desk setting.
Works on a daily basis with inmates from the general population and must be able to deal effectively with inmates.
Will at times prepare correspondence and make telephonic contact with other government agencies and others as required.
Will use good tact and judgment in dealing with the above.
Will be required to spend considerable time working with computers and other office equipment.
Due to the extent and nature of the work in a correctional institution, employee’s primary consideration is in the area of security and may be required during emergency situations to perform duties of a correctional officer, including use of firearms, chemical agents and use of force.
May be assigned to additional duties as required to ensure orderly operation of the institution.
