We are Searching for an Experienced Engineering Manager!
Our client specializes in the development of fixed and mobile versions of firearms training facilities, battle environment simulators, gunnery training, munitions storage, communication centers, presentation/conference centers, electronic equipment storehouses, etc. The Engineering Manager will plan and provide leadership for all aspects of mechanical engineering activities within the organization. Ensures all Mechanical Engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with the organization's established policies and objectives. These activities include performance management, career development and resource allocation. The successful candidate serves as a day-to-day liaison to the programs with respect to employee job assignments, recognition and performance management including goal setting, career counseling,
employee training and development, ensuring achievement of diversity within the organization, developing the departments infrastructure and strategic plan and championing, implementing and sustaining goals within the department.

The Qualifications of the Engineering Manager are as Follows:
The candidate will have BS in Mechanical Engineering.
10 - 15 years of Mechanical and/or Electrical engineering technical experience in a product development environment on military applications.
5+ years of leadership experience with technical teams.
Six-Sigma Green Belt certification a plus.
The candidate will have a broad scope of Systems Engineering experience
Familiarity with Solid Edge or 3-D modeling and finite element modeling (FEM) with proven analytical skills.
The successful candidate will have experience in all phases of hardware design, development, verification and validation engineering, which include processes, analysis and control, planning, organizing, and design implementation and verification.
This is a direct position reporting directly to the VP of Engineering with a major defense contractor.
The Responsibilities of the Engineering Manager are as Follows:
The Engineering Manager will plan and provide leadership for all aspects of mechanical engineering activities within the organization.
Ensures all Mechanical Engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with the organization's established policies and objectives. These activities include performance management, career development and resource
allocation.
The successful candidate serves as a day-to-day liaison to the programs with respect to employee job assignments, recognition and performance management including goal setting, career counseling, employee training and development; ensuring achievement of diversity within the organization; developing the departments infrastructure and strategic plan; and
championing, implementing, and sustaining goals within the department. Other activities include monitoring and assuring prompt and accurate time charging, and compliance with all project and company regulations.
Managing the development of Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for hardware development and overall design and execution portion of bids and proposals.
Coordinating program staffing needs, optimizing resource utilization and interviewing applicants. The Engineering Manager frequently interacts with the Program Managers, and Senior Management to achieve the goals and objectives of the department; provides guidance, coaching and direction to Engineers in the execution of the departmental goals. You will be involved in reviews, proposal development, and various design reviews. Programmatic responsibilities may include development and management of requirements, execution of trade studies, reuse analysis, design implementation, meeting commitments andhardware integration.
This position requires a balance of good technical knowledge, teaming and communication skills.
